No. Lake and Porter Counties have a "No Open Burn" ordnance. If Lake Ridge Fire Department is dispatched by the County 9-1-1 center, we will extinguish your fire.

Why do your firefighters have blue flashing lights on their personal vehicles?
In Indiana, blue lights on vehicles are strictly reserved for emergency personnel, primarily volunteer firefighters. According to Indiana Code § 36-8-12-11, a volunteer firefighter can display a flashing or revolving blue light on their personal vehicle while responding to an emergency call. If you see a vehicle with a flashing blue light, you should treat it as a courtesy light from a volunteer firefighter. While you are not legally required to yield the right-of-way, it is recommended to pull over safely to allow them to pass, as every second counts in an emergency.
